Re-learning who I truly am.

Wrote this in my journal a couple weeks ago, and re-read it today. Just wanted to share it with my Facebook family. On a journey where God is really digging deep, and teaching me who I really am. Not the lies that I have believed, and not the faulty person I have always seen myself as. So, starting from the beginning in Genesis, and really really soaking it all in- who our God is and what that means for who I am. Really humbling, hard many times, and heart-breaking sifting through the junk/stickers that I have let stick. But He is faithful and is willing. Praise Him, Glory to His name.

"My maker, my creator, my God created the heavens AND the earth, the light, and separated it from the darkness. My maker, who made my tissue, my bones, my organs, my face, my hands, my eyes, my hair.. who made me, created night and day. He created me!

Nothing of my make-up is faulty or by accident. I'm not clearance or manufacturer damages. The same thorough and execution of the earth went into creating me.

God made me female. He created me with my skin, my eyes, my teeth, my feet, my forehead (lol)- all of it! My mouth, my lips, my complexion- everything that I've ever wanted to change/get rid of ... He created. He molded. He shaped. He cared. He loved.

He formed me with His hands- took care, took notice, and loved on me, because I was me- that's all! the end.

So when I look up at the sky or wake up in the middle of the night and see that it's night, I can know that I was created perfectly by our Creator that created that sky and the nighttime. And when He created me, He blessed me. And He blessed me too.

I am God's child (John 1:12)

I am God's child, who came through two parents and into a family in Memphis, TN. I became their child, but have always been God's child.

WORD!

Ever have that feeling...?

...that you have SO much that you want to blog about, and it's just sitting on your chest waiting to get OUT?!?

That's me today and really this week. God is doing SO much in my life right now, that I almost feel like I can't keep up (in terms of recounting it all my bloggerino). So I'm going to attempt attack them one by one to share the good news and the challenging news (not that there's anything in particular that I'm referring to as challenging, but just in general).

The topics rang from my learning sign language, my journey to become healthier, my moments with Christ and the work being done in my life, to the amazing man and relationship that God has blessed me with, ETC ETC. :) I'm calling this Undressed for a reason!!

Ok, so let me stop talking about what I plan to do, and actually DO IT!

ps. thanks for being apart of it all.

un. dressed.

So, for anyone out there who actually reads this, just a FYI.

My blog is starting to look a little bit different (or maybe not)... I think at least my approach is a bit different. My goal is to blog about exactly where I am. right now.

HA. That may be obviously what you're supposed to do, but for some reason it seems different.

But anyway, here's to re-dedicating my blog and being OK with where I am exactly right now, sharing that, and growing in Him.

Trust.

I. Trust. You.

Found out yesterday, that I have been having a bit of a struggle with trusting some really important people in my life.

When God reveals something in our hearts, it can be a tie between something amazingly wonderful, refreshing, and freeing; and something amazingly draining and hard to come to terms with.

I thank You, Lord for sending Your Holy Spirit to dwell with and in us while we are apart from You. I pray that I remain receptive to Your promptings. I pray that pride not stand in the way/block or undermine Your revelations and Your voice. Keep me humbly at Your feet, and to know that Your wisdom and revelation of where I am is not to be dreaded, but desired.

"More Beautiful You" by Jonny Diaz

LOVE this song right now. I think it's an awesome message to girls and women of ALL ages. I have/ sometimes do struggle with truly believing this about myself, so it's encouraging and challenging all in one.

But, there truly can NEVER be a more beautiful you....me.... us.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Little girl fourteen flipping through a magazine
Says she wants to look that way
But her hair isn't straight her body isn't fake
And she's always felt overweight
Well little girl fourteen I wish that you could see
That beauty is within your heart
And you were made with such care your skin your body and your hair
Are perfect just the way they are
There could never be a more beautiful you
Don't buy the lies disguises and hoops they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you
Little girl twenty-one the things that you've already done
Anything to get ahead
And you say you've got a man but he's got another plan
Only wants what you will do instead
Well little girl twenty-one you never thought that this would come
You starve yourself to play the part
But I can promise you there's a man whose love is true
And he'll treat you like the jewel you are
So turn around you're not too far
To back away be who you are
To change your path go another way
It's not too late you can be saved
If you feel depressed with past regrets
The shameful nights hope to forget
Can disappear they can all be washed away
By the one who's strong can right your wrongs
Can rid your fears dry all your tears
And change the way you look at this big world
He will take your dark distorted view
And with His light He will show you truth
And again you'll see through the eyes of a little girl
IN LOVE...
I want...
.... to be so in love with Jesus more and more everyday.
.... so much of His presence, His love, His joy.
.... to put Him above all my temporal longings that try to steal my focus from Him each day
.... Him.
.... to hold His hand.
.... to be enveloped in His arms.
.... to lay my head on His chest.
.... sit by His feet.
.... to have children that will glorify Him and reach others in His name.
.... to be FILLED so much- RUNNING OVER with gratitude, joy, love, and grace.
.... to be more excited to be in His presence, than any other.
.... to love, serve, and honor my King with enthusiasm, grace, and humility.
.... to be a lady that loves out of a well supplied and maintained by the Lord, and gives out of a heart wholly devoted to Him
